Four Woodland students earn Pathway to Biliteracy Award

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District recognized four WLE students with their Pathway to Biliteracy Awards.

Pathway Awards recognize elementary and middle school students who have sought out second language acquisition opportunities in their communities or who have worked to maintain the native language spoken in the home.

The following students earned their Pathway Award at the end of the year:

**Indicates a student is receiving the award for a third time

  • Arabic:  Aleena Zaben** (3rd grade)
  • ASL:  Broderick Gieselman (1st grade)
  • English:  Varvara Averchenko* (3rd grade)
  • Spanish:  Kellan Braton* (5th grade)
