School

the front entrance of Woodland Elementary

Woodland Elementary opened in 2001.

Dr. J. Michael Pragman opened the building and was the building principal for 12 years. The school is named after Woodland School, an old one-room schoolhouse located about one mile south of the current school. The old schoolhouse served students through eighth grade. Woodland was one of two elementary schools opened in 2001 to reduce overcrowding. In the 2013-14 school year Mrs. Stacy James became the new building principal. In the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs. Marsha Hasty replaced Mrs. James as the newest building principal.

Woodland has been through many changes over the years, but it continues a strong tradition of excellence.  Together the students, staff, and families of Woodland are writing the next chapter in Woodland’s history.
